Sticky Tooltip

I have been a Milonic user for a long time. Quite some time ago I ran into the sticky tooltip problem which was corrected by a new release of the tooltip.js and upgraded vesion of the menu. Well it has re-appeared. I am using Tooltip.js version 1.3 and the new menu release 5.728.

I am using the XP operating system and the probem occurs on Netscape 7.2, Firefox 1.02, and IE v 6.

The site that exhibits this problem is:
http://www.gbgm-umc.org/wesley-va/

If you place your cursor over the home button you will see the tooltip "Return to Home Page". Now while the tooltip is illuminated if you pull the cursor straight down then the the left the tooltip will hang at the cursor position. This is exactly the problem in a long time ago menu version.

I am still using an old menu version 5.717 on this site:
http://sodigital.org/wesley/heritage/

This problem does not appear with this older version of the menu.

I only noticed the problem today so I cant say for sure when it resurfaced but it was somewhere after version 5.717 to the current release.

I did a search on my prior post to see if I could find where I had reported this problem in the distant past but didnt find it. Possibly I corresponded directly with Andy on this one.

Thanks,
Jim Sohn

The prior problem I had with the sticky menu resulted from me using an older verion of the tooltip.js. I dont think thats the problem this time assuming tooltip.js 1.3 is the current release:

I have gone back to version 5.52 since when I updated to version 5.62 my top level menu buttons became 'sticky' and as you ran your cursor across the buttons more than one would sometimes stay highlighted. I just regressed back to 5.52 and all is nominal again. This occurs with both NS 7.2 and IE 6.

Hi,

You need to upgrade your tooltips.js file from http://www.milonic.com/tooltips.js

It has been updated with verison 5.60 and you are using an older verision.

Hope this helps
Andy

Thanks Andy. I updated the tooltips.js and uploaded the 5.62 files and all works great on http://www.gbgm-umc.org/wesley-va/

I had not noticed the problem on my other two sites where I use the menu since I dont use the tooltips. js on those sites.

I am sure that I missed reading that one must update the tooltips.js with the later versions of the menu. Andy, Thanks for getting back with me so quickly.

Hi Jim,

There's a newer version of the menu 5.729. Try that and see if that fixes it.

Thanks for the suggestion Ruth. I now have the 5.729 current release and still have the problem.

The 1.3 tooltips is current, and requires 5.7 or better of the menu, which you have.

Ruth has notified Andy and he'll be looking into this.

Any Ideas about the sticky Tooltip?

So that this doesnt get buried, just wanted to post and ask if you have any suggestions about the sticky tooltip. I have a professional license for the problem site. http://www.gbgm-umc.org/wesley-va/ . Is there a special avenue to request assistance for a 'professional licensed' site?

Wanted to close this post by saying that Pre-release 5.731 addresses this problem. I have downloaded and installed this release and the problem no longer exists. javascript:emoticon(':)')
